Q. How does PainFreeHomework.com work?
PainFreeHomework.com is an online homework question and answer service for anyone who needs homework help or who can offer homework help. Whether you need some guidance with you are your own homework or are someone who can help others with their homework-- painfreehomework.com is here to help connect those who can offer help and those who can give.
Q: Can you post questions and also answer questions!
Yes! For the rest of this web page, we refer to 'tutors' as people who answer questions and 'students' as people asking questions...but you can do both (ask and answer questions), if you want. So if you're great at Algebra but not so great with Calculus, you can earn money helping students with Algebra in order to get the Calculus help that you need.
Q. How do I post a question?
Just register and click "post a question"! It's pretty straight forward from there!
Q. Do I have to pay to ask a question
No, asking a question is completely free. You do have to pay for tutorials/answers that you want to see. Here is how it works:
1) You post a question (without paying for anything)
2) Users post a custom reply to your question.
3) We send you a preview of their answer.
If you like any of the answers, you can buy the whole tutorial. Also, you can check out each tutor's profile before purchasing. That way you can see how well rated the tutor is.
Q. How does the User Rating System work?
It's straight forward. Our user rating system is designed to help you decide if a potential solution is going to be worth it. Every time that someone answers a question, the original question asker is able to rate the response.
Our User Rating system is designed to help you decide if a potential solution is going to be of a high caliber. Our rating system is derived from the Weighted Geometric Mean - in other words, if someone answers a high-offer question and gets an awesome rating for it, that'll influence their overall User Rating more than a rating from some lower-offer question. We've implemented this system because we basically assume that high-offer questions are going to be more difficult to answer than lower offer questions, and we want to weight the ratings as such.
Q. What is your Academic Honesty Policy?
We take this issue seriously so please review our
Academic Honesty Policy before using our service. Anytime, you get help from anyone (even if it's a relative or friend) there is a clear line between cheating and getting help. Use your best judgment and the guidelines of your school and teacher. If you came here just to have someone else give you answers to your homework without learning, then you are on the wrong website ;)
On Asking Questions:
Q. How do I select the answer that I want?
After you post your question, other students and tutors will start posting answers. We will send you previews of their custom answers. If you like a particular preview, you can buy the whole tutorial/answer.
Q. The category that I want does not exist, what should I do
Contact us and tell us what category you would like us to add.
On Answering Questions:
Q. Who can answer questions?
The short answer: Anyone! The long answer--you should only answer questions that you completely understand and can explain. This site uses a rating system so student who buys your answer can give it between 1 - 5 stars. This means that if you do a good job
answering questions , your ratings will be high and you will be more likely to get picked the next time-- if you can do a good job answering any question, then go for it!
Q. If I answer a question, will I get paid?
The short answer: Not necessarilly! The long answer--the student who answers a question may see many different answers and he or she could chose your answer or someone else's, maybe even both. The way to imnprove your chances of winning the question is to build up a history of positive rankings. Students are more likely to choose you if you have already done a good job answering similar questions.
Q. What should my answer look like?
What it should
not look like is a simple answer with no explanation! Instead, take the time to explain the concept while you answer the specific question, step by step. If it's a math problem, for instance, show all of the work. In general, you should provide more work/explanations than the student would need to hand in. You are after all providing
homework help (not just answers).
Q. How do I withdraw money I made?
Once your earnings have exceeded the minimum withdraw amount, your money can be writhdrawn using paypal(You must first, of course, set up your paypal account.)
Q. What are the site fees?
They go towards maintaining and improving the site itself. We try to take the smallest portion that we think is feasible--we want you to make money answering questions so you'll come back and do it again! You can read more about this

On Purchasing Answers:

Q. How can I tell if tutorial/answer is worth buying?
There are 2 factors.
#1)check out the preview of the full answer.
#2) carefully
look at the ratings of the tutor. If the preview looks helpful and if the tutor has a history of high ratings, then it's probably a high quality answer.
Q. Ok, so I bought an answer, what should I do now?
Read over the answer carefully and try to apply your new knowledge. If you don't understand something, ask the tutor who wrote it for clarification. Please also take the time to rate the tutor's response, this will help the next person decide whether or not to purchase from the tutor. The tutor who answered the question earns more money if you give them a higher rating...so if you really like a tutor's response give them 4 or 5 stars so they can earn a little extra.
